2007 Honda CR-V 2.2 I-CDTI ES

When the third generation of the CR-V came along, it changed the way the public perceived SUV’s in general. It paved the way for more economical, greener and traffic-friendly family 4x4s. It pretty much became an overnight favourite, thanks to its frugal diesel engine, low CO2 emissions, excellent fuel economy, and distinctive design, both on the inside and out. It has a very spacious interior, comfortable seating (which is also quite versatile), and an elegantly designed centre console. There’s a huge boot there too and the rear seats can fold completely for added practicality. In terms of driving, the CR-V handles really well on corners, the grip is fantastic, and there is hardly body roll. When it comes to off-road, it is limited in its abilities, but can cope well on uneven surfaces and adverse weather conditions. Of the three engines available; the two petrol are decent engines but in comparison to the diesel, slightly disappointing. The 2.2 i-DTEC pushes out 147bhp, 350nm of torque and has a top speed of 118mph. It can complete the benchmark 0-60 in 9.3 seconds, and returns around 43mpg.
